TV presenter to host region’s top bash as it marks 25 years of celebrating success

Top notch television presenter Gethin Jones will host this year’s Hull and East Yorkshire Business Awards.

The face of the BBC’s Morning Live show will front the prestigious event, which celebrates 25 years of championing success in 2025. Gethin will make his way to Hull for the event in November, with nominations currently being welcomed by the team.

A household name thanks to a sparkling television career with glistening credits, he is a regular on The One Show, and was the all-action reporter for Blue Peter for several years.

In 2024 he picked up a Royal Television Society Award for his presenting, and he is also a familiar voice on BBC Five Live and BBC Radio Two, and was a strong contender in both Strictly Come Dancing and a later Christmas Special, going on to present the hit show’s sidekick, It Take Two.

Gethin said: "I'm absolutely delighted to be hosting the Hull & East Yorkshire Business Awards in November. Having an involvement within a business in Hull, I jumped at the opportunity to get involved. It’s a chance to celebrate the region's many successful businesses, and - more importantly - meet the people behind them. I always enjoy my visits to Hull, and this is a special one, the 25th anniversary of the awards. Congrats to the nominees and good luck!"

Known for his warmth, professionalism and engaging style, he has covered national remembrance activities, presented a programme charting the life of Queen Elizabeth II following her passing, and oversaw King Charles’ first visit to his Welsh homeland for the BBC. Gethin also starred as Prince Charming in his Cardiff hometown last Christmas. He’ll be front and centre for the bash honouring Hull and East Yorkshire’s business royalty, and those on the journey from rags to riches, as it returns for its second year in the hands of Top 30 Under 30 talent entrepreneur Simon Jones.

The awards website will guide potential nominees, sponsors and partners towards the gala dinner, taking place at Hull’s DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel on Thursday, November 20, with full entry criteria available at . The deadline for entries is September 29.
