Microtex is exporting its products to Europe, Canada and the US

Brian Irvine, CEO at Microtex Products Ltd

The firm behind fuel-saving device Firemizer has reported huge growth following an appearance on BBC show Dragons' Den.

Nottingham-based manufacturer Microtex Products has increased its turnover by £7 million as it continued its expansion of export sales to Europe, Canada and the US.

Company bosses said the BBC appearance led to a new business focus which has seen it look at growing the potential of its core products, including Firemizer.

Brian Irvine, CEO of Microtex, said: "The past year has been an exciting one for the business as it continues to see unprecedented growth in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and in other key geographical markets.

"We’re set for another fantastic year with plenty of exciting opportunities. We are now on track for 2019 to be our busiest year yet."

Firemizer was launched in 2014 and is designed to reduce emissions from wood-burning stoves.

It is a blend of stainless steel alloys which are welded together to create a grid which is placed on the base of a stove or hearth.
