An historic hotel in Derbyshire’s Peak District has reopened under new management after undergoing a revamp.

The Maynard Arms, in Grindleford, has relaunched following extensive renovations to bring the 18th century destination back to life.

Over the last three months, the hotel has had its ballroom, garden, restaurant and bar area modernised.

The updated restaurant seats 110 people and serves fresh and locally-sourced food influenced by cuisines from across the world, while the bar has local spirits and craft beers on tap.

A popular venue for wedding ceremonies, work is also underway to convert a disused function room into a new bridal suite and an additional bedroom, bringing the total number of bedrooms to 12.

The Maynard Arms currently employs 30 members of staff, with an additional 10 part-time employees expected to join the team during the summer season.

It is now managed by seasoned hotelier Robert Hattersley, who secured a £70,000 funding package from NatWest towards the renovations.

Mr Hattersley said: “I knew I wanted to eventually have my own project in the Peak District.
