Black Country law firm Higgs has expanded its clinical negligence team with a quartet of new hires.
Charlotte Measures has joined the team as a legal director, bringing more than 20 years of experience, particularly in high-value and complex cases including birth injury and acquired brain injury claims.
Sarah Huntbach is also a new legal director who sits as an assistant coroner for the Derbyshire area too.
She is leading the team appointed by HM Coroner Birmingham & Solihull to investigate the deaths of former patients of Ian Paterson, the breast and vascular surgeon who was sentenced to 20 years in prison in 2017 for carrying out unnecessary procedures.
Natasha Alton is the team's new associate and has experience dealing with a variety of cases including those arising from catastrophic injuries, orthopaedic injury and claims arising from a delay in medical diagnosis.
Completing the new-look line up is paralegal Sarina Nar.

In other appointment news, a plastic injection moulding and toolmaking specialist has appointed a new senior management team to help it target diversification and international opportunities.
Matt Harwood has become managing director of Barkley Plastics, taking over from his father Mark who has become chairman of the Birmingham-based business.
The former logistics and business development manager will be joined at the helm by operations director Steve Smith and the duo are already setting their sights on maximising an £120,000 investment in automation and increasing its involvement in medical, construction and white goods.
"2022 is a massive year for the business as we look to bounce back from the pandemic and the supply chain issues affecting the automotive sector," said Mr Harwood.

The Birmingham office of financial services firm KPMG has promoted Paul McMillan to partner as part of a bumper round of promotions totalling 38 in the region.

Mr McMillan, who joined KPMG last year, has become a partner at the firm's base in Snowhill where he will continue his work within the financial services consulting team.
He began his career in banking and went on to hold a number of senior positions in the industry, including with Ulster Bank and Al Rayan Bank.
