Heart broadcaster Ed James to host Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards 2020

Ed says his own company has benefitted from employing apprentices as deadline looms to enter event celebrating individuals, employers and training providers

Heart broadcaster Ed James will host our Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards later this year

Birmingham DJ and broadcaster Ed James has been unveiled as the host of our 2020 Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards - as the event enters the final week of nominations.

Ed took over presenting duties on the drivetime show on Heart last summer, having been the voice the city heard when waking up for 17 years on the same station.

And when he is not entertaining the city's listeners, he can be found running Digbeth content marketing and PR agency HDY and working with clients in sectors such as beauty, transport and charity.

Ed said: "We've hired apprentices at HDY since we launched two years ago and quite honestly we wouldn't be the agency we are today without them.

"They bring enthusiasm, passion and a new way of thinking that's invaluable to any business.

"I can't wait to host the Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards to honour the huge contribution made to businesses in the city."
