An insurance brokerage which was launched during the pandemic is looking to double in size in the next six months.

James Dunning and Sean Thorneycroft started Purely Protect in May 2020 offering a wide range of insurance services.

In the last 18 months, the company has grown into a team of 12 which operates from offices at in Fenton, Stoke-on-Trent.

Now the business has launched a recruitment drive for up to 14 new staff as it looks to grow even further.

James said: "We had been talking about starting our own business for about three years. We knew we could make it work but we never took it any further because it's obviously hard to give up a full-time job and a regular income, but lockdown gave us more time to put our efforts into starting our own business – and we formed the company in May 2020.

"It started with Sean and I but we soon started to bring staff into the business and now we're at the point where we need to recruit again.

"We want to double in size by 2022 and there's no reason why we can't have a team of 500 within the next five years."
