Global tourism conference coming to Birmingham

First World Screen Tourism Summit will help the industry tap into new fashion for 'set-jetting'

The ICC in Birmingham will welcome the first-ever World Screen Tourism Summit later this year

A new global summit for the holiday and tourism industry is coming to Birmingham later this year.

The first-ever World Screen Tourism Summit, known as 'SET-JET25', will take place on November 21 at the International Convention Centre.

The event is designed to showcase º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and international best practice in the growing market for so-called 'set-jetting', the concept of tourists visiting locations they have seen in films and TV shows.

Set-jetting has been named by numerous tour operators and consultancies as one of the top global travel trends expected in 2025.

The summit is aimed at tourism operators, marketing bodies for destinations and attractions, hotel groups and screen and film commissions from the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and overseas.

The organiser of the event is The Tourism Business which also founded the annual º£½ÇÊÓÆµ National Hotel Marketing Conference and has previously run the London International Film Tourism Conference.

The World Screen Tourism Summit will hear from expert speakers from around the world on film tourism marketing, destination branding, PR and social media campaign development, visitor management and film tourism licensing.

The summit will be supported by lead partners West Midlands Combined Authority, West Midlands Growth Company, VisitBritain and the British Film Commission.
