A new global summit for the holiday and tourism industry is coming to Birmingham later this year.

The first-ever World Screen Tourism Summit, known as 'SET-JET25', will take place on November 21 at the International Convention Centre.

The event is designed to showcase º£½ÇÊÓƵ and international best practice in the growing market for so-called 'set-jetting', the concept of tourists visiting locations they have seen in films and TV shows.

Set-jetting has been named by numerous tour operators and consultancies as one of the top global travel trends expected in 2025.

The summit is aimed at tourism operators, marketing bodies for destinations and attractions, hotel groups and screen and film commissions from the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and overseas.

The organiser of the event is The Tourism Business which also founded the annual º£½ÇÊÓƵ National Hotel Marketing Conference and has previously run the London International Film Tourism Conference.

The summit will be supported by lead partners West Midlands Combined Authority, West Midlands Growth Company, VisitBritain and the British Film Commission.

In the West Midlands, programmes over the past 12 months such as Joan, Steven Knight's This Town and Late Night Lycett have put the region into living rooms across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

West Midlands Mayor Richard Parker said: "The global success of Peaky Blinders has shone a spotlight on our region's rich history, stunning architecture and iconic canals.

"Hosting the first-ever World Screen Tourism Summit is a fantastic opportunity to build on that momentum. We're working hard to make it easier for filmmakers to bring their productions here, tapping into our talented workforce and driving investment.
