Gigs promotor for James Bond singers Billie Eilish and Adele eyes recovery after Covid hit turnover by £225m

The company has also worked with Foo Fighters, Stormzy, Spice Girls and Take That

A concert promotions company, which as worked with acts including Take That, Spice Girls, Foo Fighters and Stormzy, fell into the red after its turnover plummeted by more than £225m because of the Covid-19 pandemic, according to newly-filed documents.

SJM Concerts has reported a pre-tax loss of £797,168 for the 12 months to December 31, 2020, compared to a profit of £10.8m in 2019.

The accounts filed with Companies House also reveal that its turnover dropped from £252.1m to £25.1m over the same period.

The Stockport business was co-founded by Chris York and Simon Moran and has also promoted concerns for the likes of Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Peter Kay, Billie Eilish, Adele and The Killers.

Mr Moran is also the owner of Super League side Warrington Wolves who published their own accounts at the start of September.

The parent company of both SJM Concerns and Wolves, SJM Holdings, posted a turnover of £29.4m for the year, down from £259.2m, while it made a pre-tax loss of £880,688 compared to a profit of £11.2m in the prior 12 months.
