'It has been a tough few years for all of us, but many of these 200 businesses have weathered the storm well'

Representatives of the region’s biggest businesses attended a breakfast event to mark the publication of the LeicestershireLive Top 200 Companies of 2022.
The event took place at Winstanley House Hotel in Leicester and included presentations for the biggest business – Sytner Cars – highest new entry and highest riser on the list.
The list, which is sponsored by Pattersons Commercial Law, has been compiled by a team from De Montfort University and can be accessed here.
Event host was broadcaster Martin Ballard while Reach Plc head of events Marcia Mitchell spoke about the success of the city and county’s business sector.
She said: “A huge number of the companies on our list are household names – Barratt Homes, Joules and Next, Dunelm, Europcar and companies involved with Cofresh and Poundstretcher, Goldsmiths jewellers and Caterpillar.
"We are all proud to have them based here.
“It has been a tough few years for all of us, but many of these 200 businesses have weathered the storm well.
“Hopefully you will have followed coverage of those businesses on our BusinessLive website, and hopefully that will have kept you informed on how these businesses have fared.
“Long may that continue, and long may the success of the Leicestershire business sector continue.â€
