Carwyn Jones, the former First Minister of Wales, has joined the City of London PR firm NorthPoint Strategy as a senior counsel.

Lord Jones, who became a life peer at the end of 2024, will be bringing his expertise to the firm, which boasts clients such as Polygon, º£½ÇÊÓÆµ Cryptoasset Business Council, Andreessen Horowitz, and CEO Club Ukraine, as reported by .

The firm is under the chairmanship of Lord James Wharton, notable for managing Boris Johnson's successful Prime Ministerial campaign in 2019, and is directed by Managing Director Simon Jennings. Alongside Jones, the firm also benefits from the experience of Lord David Triesman, the FA's first independent chair and a former Labour figure.

Jones, who led Wales from 2009 until his resignation in 2018 following the tragic death of Carl Sargeant, a dismissed Welsh government minister, expressed enthusiasm about his new position: "I am excited to join NorthPoint Strategy and support its mission to deliver meaningful outcomes for its clients."

He added, "They have gone from strength to strength since they started and I look forward to sharing my experience with the team, collaborating with their clients, and contributing to the agency’s outstanding public affairs services."
