Ms Berger represented Liverpool Wavertree until 2019

Luciana Berger

Former Liverpool Wavertree MP Luciana Berger is to join the board of online car retailer Cazoo after the firm's planned $7bn entry onto the New York Stock Exchange.

Ms Berger will take her seat on the board as a non-executive director following completion of Cazoo's merger with AJAX I.

The former Labour, Change º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Lib Dem MP is currently managing director of advocacy and public affairs at Edelman º£½ÇÊÓƵ, specialising in health, sustainability and energy policy.

During her time at Westminster, she was the shadow minister for energy and climate change, shadow minister for public health, shadow cabinet member for mental health between 2010 and 2016, and the Liberal Democrat shadow spokesperson for health, social care and wellbeing in 2019.

Upon her appointment she will become the chair of environment, social, and corporate governance (ESG) committee at Cazoo.

Cazoo recently announced it will list on the NYSE through a $7bn merger with AJAX I, a publicly-traded special purpose acquisition company founded by US investor Dan Och.

The transaction is expected to complete in the third quarter of the year when Ms Berger will take up her role on the Cazoo board.
