The º£½ÇÊÓƵ Government has confirmed the appointment of former Conservative politician Guto Bebb as the interim chair for Welsh language broadcaster S4C. This announcement comes after the previous chair, Mr Williams, was found to have behaved in a "bullying and aggressive" manner towards a woman he later dismissed.
The ex-CEO was discovered unresponsive by her husband after taking an overdose. A report by a law firm highlighted a seemingly toxic environment at the broadcaster, leading to calls for a "fresh start" and an independent investigation into the channel's governance.
In other news, S4C has appointed an interim chief executive following a period of turbulence. The broadcaster stated that their action plan outlines a "programme of work" to fully address the issues the channel is currently facing.

The aim is to regain the trust of S4C staff and the creative sector by examining the leadership, culture, HR policies and procedures, and governance of the organisation.
The º£½ÇÊÓƵ Government has confirmed Mr Bebb will take up his new position in April 2022 and stay until the end of March 2025, or until a new "substantive" chair has been appointed. The ex-politician, who resides in Caernarfon, Gwynedd, is currently the group managing director of the Farmers Union of Wales and has previously served as the managing director of FUW Insurance Services Limited, reports .
Before his time at FUW, Mr Bebb was part of Plaid Cymru before switching to the Conservatives. He represented the Aberconwy constituency as an MP from 2010 to 2019, and held various roles including under-secretary of state for Wales, procurement minister at the Ministry of Defence, and senior government whip under both Cameron and May's governments.
Mr Bebb sat on the Welsh Affairs Select Committee for many years and was part of the Public Accounts Committee during his tenure at Westminster. But, in 2018 he resigned as defence minister over Theresa May's Brexit policy, before announcing in July 2019 that he wouldn't stand in the next election, which took place that December.
The º£½ÇÊÓƵ Government has confirmed that to obtain the interim position, Mr Bebb must declare any "significant" political activity from the past five years. They also revealed that the appointment process for a new chair for S4C started accepting applications from Thursday.
