Former Arco boss Stephen Martin receives OBE in 2020 New Year's Honours

Respected Hull business figure Stephen Martin has received an OBE in the 2020 New Year’s Honours list.

The former Arco joint managing director, who remains a non-executive director at the safety equipment firm, received the title for his services to business and the community of Hull and East Yorkshire.

Mr Martin, a graduate of Cambridge University, first joined his older brother Tom Martin at safety equipment supplier Arco in 1965 as finance director.

In 2003, he retired as joint managing director and passed the baton onto the next generation of the Martin family.

He remains to this day a non-executive vice chairman. Mr Martin is also well-known for his work with Hymers College, Nuffield hospitals and the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
