Online food delivery business Foodhub has marked International Women's Day 2022 by announcing a brand new policy showing support for its incredible band of female employees.

From today, female workers at the Stoke-on-Trent firm will be granted a full day of paid leave to attend medical appointments such as breast screenings and smear tests.

International Women's Day is celebrated on March 8 ever year to recognise the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women around the world.

Marena Holloway, chief of staff at Foodhub, said: "As a female at Foodhub, it's really encouraging to know that my employer is conscious of women's issues.

"I'm pleased that this new policy has been initiated and feel reassured that I will be given time and space to step away from work if I need to.

"It's also a huge relief to know that I won't be affected financially if I do need to take time off to look after myself."

Foodhub CEO Ardian Mula threw his support behind the policy, and signed it off following a series of conversations with female members of staff.
