A food festival taking place this summer has unveiled the first cohort of venues taking part.

Birmingham Restaurant Festival will run for the whole of August and has secured the backing of 31 traders across the city.

They include brands such as Orelle and Dishoom in the business district, Digbeth venue 670 Grams, Lasan and Trentina in the Jewellery Quarter and Chapter in Edgbaston.

This is the fourth year that Birmingham Restaurant Festival has run and participating venues offer exclusive menus curated especially for the event.

The final line up of restaurants and menus will be revealed closer to the event.

Alex Nicholson-Evans, founder of Living For The Weekend which organises the festival, said: "I'm so excited that Birmingham Restaurant Festival is back to showcase the very best of our city's culinary scene for a fourth year.

"We're revealing our biggest preview list to date and it's amazing to see so many fantastic restaurants lined up to take part.
