Fire Seals Direct targets tripling revenues at larger Ystrad Mynach base

The family run firm has moved from Caerphilly to a new 30,000 sq ft operation

Anthony Robins managing director of Fire Seals Direct .

Family-run supplier of fire protection products, Fire Sales Direct, has relocated to larger premises as part of a strategy to triple revenues and create new jobs.

The company, whose products include fire doors, seals and ironmongery, has moved its main operations from Pontygwindy Industrial Estate in Caerphilly to a new 30,000 sq ft facility in Ystrad Mynach – which sees the firm remaining in the Caerphilly local authority area.

It said its new premises will position it to grow revenues by 300% over the next five years with its head count reaching 50.

Established in 2016 the business began as part of CheckFire a supplier of fire safety equipment which was founded by the grandfather of managing director Anthony Robins in the 1970s.

Since 2021 the team has grown from two to 15 full-time employees, while turnover has risen by an average of 44% year on year. As part of its wider strategy, the company has also added 20 new brands to its portfolio within the past two years.

The new two-storey premises will boost operational efficiency and enhancing customer service. Alongside a dedicated warehouse, it will also house modern office space for the customer service and sales teams.

The company also plans to launch a click-and-collect area at the facility.

Mr Robins said: “In the last couple of years, we’ve onboarded hundreds of new products and seen our sales continue to climb – we’re growing at a significant pace. With the rapid expansion of our team and customer offering, we needed a larger office that could support our evolving needs.
