The fastest-growing private companies in the North West have been revealed in a new list.

Cheshire-based healthcare services provider Everything Genetic topped the regional section of the inaugural rankings while it placed fifth in the national list.

The company achieved sales of almost £35m during its latest year and a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 217.8%.

The medical technology business was initially focused on identifying genetic predispositions to cancer but since 2020 it has manufactured one million PCR tests and 10 million rapid tests, largely for people travelling overseas.

Founder and chief executive James Price announced in March that the company had struck a deal with Tesco to supply 1,400 supermarkets with lateral flow tests for sale to the general public.

Mr Price also said that the company was going through the approval process to supply Covid testing kits to Australia, America and countries in the Middle East.

Leigh-based Aspire Platforms, a construction hire operator, came second in the North West list, and 11th nationally.
