Facilities and environmental services group MSS post record results with acquisitions on its radar

The Cardiff headquartered firm has also grown its headcount

MSS Group chief executive Bill Mayne.

Facilities and environmental services group, MSS, has posted record financial results as it sets its sights on continued growth and potential acquisitions.

For the financial year to the end of March, 2021, revenues at the Cardiff headquartered group rose from £28.5m a year earlier to £31m, with pre-tax profit up from £5.1m to £5.7m.

With a º£½ÇÊÓÆµ-wide client base nearly £27m of its revenues came from its facilities management services and asbestos removal and consultancy arms.

MSS Group chief executive Bill Mayne said: “Our organisation exists to create and maintain clean, safe and secure environments and the events of the past 18 months have demonstrated, more than ever before, the significance and relevance of this philosophy.”

The majority of the group’s client consists of large multi-national businesses, tier one contractors and public sector bodies.

Mr Mayne said: “We describe ourselves as a safe pair of hands because consistent and reliable delivery of products and services is at the heart of everything we do. Our ability to do this has led to enduring relationships with companies that share our commitment to health and safety, quality, and working in partnership to deliver exceptional results.”

At year end the group employed 554 up on 481 a year previous. During the pandemic at least 95% of its staff were designated as key workers
