Event management business PH Production Services Ltd says it has been 鈥榖usier than ever鈥 during the pandemic 鈥 despite all events being cancelled.
The Newcastle-under-Lyme business went from 鈥100 miles an hour鈥 to a 鈥榙ead stop鈥 in March 2020 when the 海角视频 lockdown was announced, and every event in the diary was cancelled in the space of five days.
But, following an investment in new technology, the company has been able to survive 鈥 and even increase its turnover 鈥 by supporting a range of clients to stay connected during the pandemic.
Director Pete Herbert said: 鈥淭he future looked incredibly bleak for us.
鈥淚n a year when we should have been planning celebrations ahead of our 20th year in business, we had to contemplate winding up and calling it a day.
鈥淗owever, we had been investing in live streaming technology for about five years and it wasn鈥檛 long before existing and new clients were asking about how we could help them reach their audiences, and pretty soon we were as busy 鈥 and quickly busier 鈥 than ever.
鈥淥ur experience in working on live events to fixed and often tight deadlines put us in a strong position to be able to deliver streaming solutions.鈥
Some of the projects the company has been involved in include helping the Methodist Church to convert their annual conference to an online event and the Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire LEP鈥檚 first online conference.
It also recently helped Stoke-on-Trent City Council to deliver its 鈥楶owering Up鈥 prospectus launch and has made a number of training videos for Cliff College in Derbyshire after it was forced to move to online learning.
Pete said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 been a difficult and worrying time but thankfully we have managed to pass on work to local freelancers who have supported us in the past and do a little to help out.
鈥淲e are looking forward to live events slowly coming back and also looking into how we can stage hybrid events utilizing digital solutions.
鈥淲e are planning for and looking forward to what the future brings but are very aware that the
events industry, and the people who work in it, need loads of support.鈥
