An energy firm is planning to create more than 50 jobs in Birmingham after striking a new office deal.

Octopus Energy has expanded its presence at the Imperial and Whitehall offices in Colmore Row which is set to become the HQ of the firm's new national solar photovoltaics sales team.

Octopus has signed a five-year lease on a second office suite of 2,900 sq ft in the complex which is housed inside the revamped Grand Hotel building.

The company already occupies a first-floor suite within the same building where its dedicated sales office has been based since 2021.

Director Neil Woolley said: "We're thrilled to be doubling down on our Birmingham presence. Having successfully launched a sales office here in 2021, Birmingham felt the natural choice to launch our new solar PV sales HQ and create more than 50 new jobs.

"Even with the increase in flexible working, employees still appreciate an engaging office space in a fantastic location.

"Growth has already exceeded expectations, I'm sure we'll need to triple down in Birmingham very soon."
