One of the North West's largest import/export and haulage groups has completed its second acquisition in Greater Manchester in as many months.

Burnley-based EFS Global has snapped up Atherton-based Austin Wilkinson, which provides haulage, freight forwarding and logistics services in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and across Europe, for an undisclosed sum.

EFS Global completed the acquisition of a counterpart headquartered at the World Freight Terminal in Manchester at the start of March.

It has also been revealed that EFS Global's turnover now stands at £67m, with gross profits of £12m and an EBITDA of £7m.

The figures come after documents filed with Companies House at the end of March showed that EFS Global's revenue was £37.8m in the 12 months to March 31, 2020, up from £26.3m.

EFS Global managing director Mark Jones said: "Austin Wilkinson is a much respected name so we are pleased to welcome them to the EFS group of companies. I’m sure it will be a positive acquisition as we continue to grow."

The corporate team at Davis Blank Furniss advised EFS Global on all aspects of the transaction including legal due diligence and transactional matters.
