XPO Logistics
Northampton-based freight transportation services XPO Logistics has announced the appointment of Andrew Turner to lead the company's commercial organisation in the 海角视频 and Ireland.
He reports to Dan Myers, managing director for the region.
Mr Turner has more than 20 years of experience in transportation and logistics, including a decade of senior business development roles.
Prior to his current position, he served as head of development for Wincanton plc and Yodel Delivery Network.
He was instrumental in XPO's strategic expansion in the 海角视频 e-commerce and direct-to-consumer digital sectors.
He holds a degree in business economics and European studies from Manchester Metropolitan University.

He said: "Andrew is taking over the leadership of a highly successful team, where his strong industry background will drive our further development in multichannel distribution, retail replenishment, national transport management and final mile delivery.

XPO provides technology-enabled freight transportation solutions for customers across a range of supply chains in Europe, including food and beverage, e-commerce, industrial and consumer goods, as well as for the Tour de France and other global events.
Dunelm
The 海角视频 and Ireland president of Mastercard is joining the board of Dunelm as a non-executive director.
Kelly Devine will join the Leicestershire-based homewares giant from March 1, and will sit on its audit and risk, remuneration and nominations committees.
Prior to joining Mastercard in 2015, she held senior roles at American Express for a decade and was an economics consultant with PwC between 2003 and 2005.

Ms Devine has an economics degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Dunelm chairman Andy Harrison said: "I am very pleased to welcome Kelly to Dunelm.
“Her experience in the fast changing international payments industry, driven by technology, changing consumer behaviour and the power of data will strengthen our board as we accelerate our multichannel growth."
Geldards
Law firm Geldards is expanding its employment team in Derby with the appointment of associate Stephanie Cooper.
Ms Cooper is an experienced employment and HR solicitor who joins from Anthony Collins Solicitors in Birmingham. She has worked with a range of national and regional clients and advises on day-to-day employment and HR issues, including restructuring and redundancies, disciplinaries and grievances, contracts of employment and handbooks and settlement agreements.
She also has experience in employment tribunals and has defended a wide range of claims, including unfair dismissal, discrimination and whistleblowing.
She said: “I am looking forward to the next chapter of my career at Geldards, and am delighted to be joining such a renowned firm.”
Debra Martin, partner and head of the corporate team at Geldards said: “Stephanie’s experience will complement the strengths of our fantastic Employment team.”
PWC
PwC has developed its senior team in the Midlands with three new partners and six newly-promoted directors.
The promotions are in addition to its usual partner promotion round in July, and “reflect the strong growth of the firm driven by demand for services including transformation, deals, and ESG”.
Matthew Hammond, PwC’s Midlands’s region leader said: “I'm delighted we can make these appointments and congratulate each of our talented new partners and directors.
“The role of leaders has never been more important as organisations grapple with the transformation brought about by the pandemic and other major challenges such as climate change and regional inequality.
The recent partner admissions in the Midlands are Rachael Hampton, in the consulting practice, Jeff Nye in deals and Matt Timmons in the tax practice.
PwC has also named six new directors in the Midlands – Alison White, Jani Singh, Lisa Orton in tax; Kristin Roman and Vladimir Ivanchenko in audit and Rachael Ellis in deals.
Hallam
Nottingham digital marketing agency Hallam has welcomed senior paid social consultant Alex Jackson and paid social consultant Darren Smith to the team.
Mr Jackson has previously worked with national and international brands across various sectors, from banking to fashion.
He said: “Hallam has been amazing from day one.
“It’s refreshing in agency life to find such a tight knit group of people that all hold the company culture at the heart of what they do.
“It’s a capricious time for digital marketing, and being able to shape the strategy and assemble the best paid social team ever is really exciting.”
Mr Smith has an MSc in marketing and three years agency experience in digital marketing, working on everything from start-ups with low budgets, all the way up to big brands with big budgets.
Invest in Nottingham
The marketing body has brought in Raj Birring to assist in its inward investment projects.
He will be working alongside James Mann, Nicolle Ndiweni and the rest of the team to promote Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, and support businesses moving to the area.
Mr Birring has joined the inward investment agency from University of Nottingham, and brings a wealth of marketing and client relationship experience from diverse professional sectors.
Along with a commercial background in high street retail buying, he has delivered SME business support and entrepreneurship projects within a higher education setting and managed an equality and inclusion campaign in the third sector.
Business expansion specialist James Mann said: “We’re delighted to welcome Raj to the Invest in Nottingham team. We’re moving into an exciting phase of new campaigns and initiatives which will increase inward investment into the city and local region.
“We’ve seen a surge in enquiries in 2021, so having Raj to support us in our ongoing campaign to help businesses grow in the region will be integral.
“Raj’s strong commercial background and experience in working closely with growing SMEs will be a great addition.”
Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering
David Lavery has joined the board of Danaher & Walsh Civil Engineering as operations director.
David previously worked for the Leicestershire-based firm in site management roles before returning to his homeland of Australia in 2010, where he worked for infrastructure giants Fulton Hogan and Brierty on major civil engineering projects.
He re-joined D&W after a spell with Tarmac – where he was responsible for a big public sector framework – to lead operational delivery within civil engineering, with specific focus on efficiency, innovation and customer relationships.
He said: “Since returning to Danaher & Walsh in 2019, it’s been a challenging few years, with Covid and other factors affecting the way we do business, but I am proud of how we as a company have risen to the challenges, implemented changes and adopted new approaches.
"I’m looking forward to the future, working with the board and the wider team to achieve our targets and objectives, as we continue to grow the business within our traditional operating areas and expansion into East Anglia.
"On a personal level, it’s an honour and privilege to be taking over the operations director role for a company that I first joined as a Sub-Agent back in 2008, and I am looking forward to the journey ahead."

PKF Smith Cooper
A Derby businessman with a love of sport has been appointed to the board of the Derbyshire Institute of Sport (DIS).
Keen cyclist and golfer David Nelson is senior partner at Midlands-based accountancy and advisory firm PKF Smith Cooper and has joined the board as the institute enters a new stage of growth.
PKF Smith Cooper is a gold sponsor of the institute – and a Marketing Derby boldholder – and one of its trainee accountants is elite runner Alex Knibbs.
Mr Nelson said: “Both myself and PKF Smith Cooper have been supporters of DIS for some time and have watched with great interest the success they have had over recent years.
“As a gold sponsor, I am proud that we have helped fund vital training for young athletes in the region. Having been involved in amateur sport for many years, I know the dedication and commitment it takes both by the athletes themselves and the support teams around them.
IDT Limited
Jo Phillips has joined Ilkeston-based managed IT specialist IDT to head up its accounts department.
The new hire marks a year of substantial growth for the company, which has grown the number of staff by a third in the last year.
Managing director Luke Draper said: “Over the past two years, IDT has invested in several areas of the business.
“Such has been the growth of the company that we quickly realised that we needed to streamline our accounts and finance process.
“Jo brings a wealth of experience to IDT and is the perfect person to help us do this.”
