Dragan Maksimovic is new CEO at Aggregate Industries

He succeeds Guy Edwards, who has decided to pursue other career opportunities outside the organisation

Aggregate Industries has appointed Dragan Maksimovic as its new chief executive.

Mr Maksimovic will join the Leicestershire-headquartered construction materials giant on June 1, replacing Guy Edwards, who has left the business.

Aggregate industries is a £1.3 billion turnover business with more than 200 sites and around 3,700 staff, which produces everything from building aggregates to asphalt, ready-mixed concrete and precast concrete products.

It also provides national road surfacing and contracting services.

Mr Maksimovic has more than 25 years in the construction sector, with a background in technical and sales, and most recently was CEO in Sika º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, part of a global chemicals group which supplies products to the building materials and automotive sectors.

An Aggregate Industries spokesman said under his leadership, Sika º£½ÇÊÓÆµ had delivered “exceptional business results and an increased financial performance”.

Miljan Gutovic, the Europe, Middle East and Africa regional head of Aggregate’s parent company LafargeHolcim, said: “I am confident Dragan will continue to drive excellence in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ construction sector and at the same time deliver on our ambitious sustainability targets.
