Aggregate Industries has appointed Dragan Maksimovic as its new chief executive.
Mr Maksimovic will join the Leicestershire-headquartered construction materials giant on June 1, replacing Guy Edwards, who has left the business.
Aggregate industries is a £1.3 billion turnover business with more than 200 sites and around 3,700 staff, which produces everything from building aggregates to asphalt, ready-mixed concrete and precast concrete products.
It also provides national road surfacing and contracting services.
Mr Maksimovic has more than 25 years in the construction sector, with a background in technical and sales, and most recently was CEO in Sika Ƶ, part of a global chemicals group which supplies products to the building materials and automotive sectors.
An Aggregate Industries spokesman said under his leadership, Sika Ƶ had delivered “exceptional business results and an increased financial performance”.

Mr Maksimovic said he was delighted to be joining a leader in the Ƶ construction industry.

Mr Maksimovic holds an MBA from the University of Sheffield and a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He has also completed an international leadership program at IMD in Switzerland.
The Aggregate Industries spokesman said Guy Edwards had made a significant contribution over the last decade with LafargeHolcim, through various senior roles in the Ƶ and US.
