A Leicestershire company which supplies and repairs coffee machines has taken on the challenge of raising awareness of mental health with its latest product.

The team at Markfield-based Coffix Ltd have launched a new coffee machine, the Ceri Compact 2, under a new brand called Design Espresso.

They have also announced a charity partnership with the Leicestershire Action for Mental Health Project (LAMP) charity.

The joint launch took place at the Caffé Culture Show in London.

Design Espresso directors Glenn James and Sean Callaghan said they wanted to use the Design Espresso brand to provide support and raise awareness of mental health within industry.

They decided to do something after a staff member took their own life in 2020, and they have even named the Ceri Compact 2 after the colleague.

Mr Johnson said: ”We were all massively saddened by Ceri’s passing, but we wanted to embark on a mission that aimed to carry on her legacy and build an awareness about the growing issue of poor mental health within the coffee industry, and amongst employers generally.

“Hence we have developed the idea of a bespoke new coffee machine named after her.”
