Derbyshire recycling firm Ward toasts double award win

Derbyshire’s Ward celebrates awards double

Donald Ward

A Derbyshire metal, recycling and waste management business is celebrating a double awards success.

At the East Midlands Business Masters Awards, Ward, which is headquartered in Ilkeston, was named Large Company of the Year for 2020, retaining its title from the previous year.

There was also individual success for the company’s operations director, Donald Ward.

At the ceremony, which was held at Nottingham’s Crowne Plaza, he was presented with the highest accolade of the night – Ambassador of the Year.

Voted for by the judging panel, the Ambassador Award recognises the contribution made by an individual in putting the region on the map and leading their area of a business.

The judges complimented Ward’s continuous growth across all its sectors.

They were also impressed the firm’s commitment to sustainability and ongoing efforts to improve metal recycling and waste management processes, to reduce waste to landfill.

Mr Ward said: “To be recognised for the second year as the best Large Company of the Year is a fantastic honour and credit to the sustained growth and investment we’ve made over the past year.
