A Derby PR agency founded by a pair of former journalists is celebrating a decade in business.

Penguin PR, based in Ashbourne Road, was founded by ex-Derby Telegraph writers Sarah Newton and Simon Burch in 2010.

Since then, they have been working to raise the profile of a host of companies, schools and other organisations based in and around the city.

Over the past decade Penguin has worked with big name brands including Lubrizol, Tenpin, Paddy Power and Bird’s the confectioners.

It also promoted branch openings for the COSMO restaurant group, including its Derby and Nottingham branches, and publicised the opening of the Injoy play centre at Derby’s Riverlights development.

For the past three years it has also supplied the PR for the Derbyshire County Show and supported organisers when they took the difficult decision to cancel this year’s event.

The mark 10 years in business, the company has refreshed its brand, reinventing its penguin logo while revamping its online presence as part of a series of events being held to mark its decade.

The firm has always used a penguin as part of its branding and its new logo, which was created by 45 Degrees design agency in Belper, continues the tradition, while incorporating the letters P and R into the design.
