Before moving into broadcasting, she had a ten-year stint at Westminster by first working as a Tory researcher and then writing for newspapers from the Press Gallery and later working as press secretary for then Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy.

Mrs McAndrew will be joined at the ceremony by keynote speaker Lord Andrew Adonis, known as the architect of HS2 which has never been far from the headlines over the past few months.

Nominations for this year's awards came from a range of small businesses, start-ups, household names and large corporations.

Ms McAndrew will present the awards across 12 separate categories, including our overall company of the year and four new awards for corporate responsibility, hospitality, property and young businessperson.
