A West Yorkshire craft brewery business has launched a new bar in Leeds serving cocktails on tap.

Ossett Brewery & Salt Beer Factory has opened Salt Leeds – Craft & Cocktails in the city centre, after transforming its former Craft Asylum #2 venue into a New York-style bar.

The beer and cocktail destination offers eight different cocktails on tap, alongside the firm’s own keg beers and cask classics. The company has invested a significant sum in the venue, which now has a new outdoor seating area and a living wall full of plants.

Based close to one of Leeds’ most popular nightspots, Greek Street, the Craft Asylum #2 bar originally catered for beer drinkers, serving up beers from Salt as well as guest breweries, but the addition of cocktails and weekend DJs in its new loook is set to widenits appeal.

Ossett has invested more than £3m over the past two years in brewing capacity, warehouse facilities and equipment and new packaging resources, together with the Salt Beer Factory at Saltaire in Bradford.

Jamie Lawson, co-owner of Ossett Brewery and Salt Beer Factory said: “I am excited to see Salt exploring new ground with our line-up of cocktails on tap alongside our Salt beer range, introducing something new to the Leeds drinking scene.”

The brewery first launched the Salt Beer Factory three years ago, inside the Grade II listed former tramshed in Saltaire, near Bradford.
