Mpac Group, the packaging automation specialist, announced a significant uptick in revenue as strategic decisions made in 2023 start to bear fruit.

The Coventry-headquartered firm, listed on the London Stock Exchange, saw its half-year sales surge to £60m for the period ending 30 June 2024, marking a climb of over 12 per cent from £52.8m in the comparative period of the previous year, as reported by .

This growth translated into a substantial rise in pre-tax profit for Mpac, leaping to £3.3m in the first six months, a stark increase from the £200,000 recorded in the initial half of 2023.

The company, which also has a base in Tadcaster, Yorkshire, attributed this impressive performance to its successful expansion and diversification of its customer base throughout the last year, which now includes more than 30 per cent of its original equipment.

Despite the robust advancement in sales, Mpac observed a slight dip in order intake, down four per cent at £59.7m compared to the same period last year, but showing a six per cent improvement since the latter half of 2023.

This variance was described by the firm as typical fluctuations in customer ordering patterns.

With operations stretching across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ, North America, Europe, and Asia, Mpac reassured investors of an anticipated stronger weighting of full-year underlying profit before tax towards the latter half of the year.

Heading into the second half of 2024, the company boasts a healthy order book totalling £71.4m.
