Coronavirus inspires activity business Buckt to branch out

Company which normally offers tickets to subscribers has now introduced a range of at-home activities in a bid to beat lockdown blues

Buckt founder Daniel Bridgewater has branched out as a result of the coronavirus lockdown

An activity subscription company has launched a new service as a result of the covid-19 outbreak and subsequent lockdown impacting customers of its core business.

Buckt normally delivers a monthly box to subscribers containing five different activities in the Birmingham or Manchester areas, ranging from theatre and rugby tickets to skateboard lessons and alpaca walking.

But with the ban on all non-essential travel leaving people stuck inside their own houses, company founder Daniel Bridgewater has devised a new programme of activities for members to do at home.

Each box includes physical products such as crafting and baking kits and digital entertainment including live streams of theatre shows, online classes and courses.

The business is also working with activity providers around the country to create digital versions of their products including escape rooms, sports teams and cinemas.

Mr Bridgewater said that, by launching 'Buckt Home', he hoped to relieve the boredom people might be feeling by the stringent restrictions of the Government's coronavirus lockdown.

It also enables the business to target new subscribers across the country as the products are free from geographical constraints.
