A mechanical contractor has secured a new head office building in a £500,000 deal. Ignis Group has acquired two-storey offices and workshop space on Saxon Business Park in Stoke Prior, near Bromsgrove.

It was previously based in Studley, Warwickshire, where it has been for two years but is having to relocate due to the growth of the company.

Brothers Terry O'Neill and John Mackin founded Ignis Group seven years ago and it now employs over 25 staff and maintains more than 1,000 commercial buildings throughout the Midlands and surrounding counties.

Its work includes carrying out servicing, maintenance and installation of commercial heating and hot water systems, counting more than 200 schools in the Midlands along with other colleges and universities as clients.

The company also supports a wide range of sectors including healthcare, leisure, manufacturing, local authorities and other private businesses.

Birmingham City FC have also appointed the firm as the club's mechanical contractor, responsible for gas infrastructure compliance and maintenance of all heating and hot water services at its stadium and Wast Hills training ground.

Mr O'Neill said: "We had been looking for somewhere suitable in the Bromsgrove area for about three years. We needed a dual-purpose facility and somewhere large enough to keep up with the sheer pace of growth in the business.

"In addition to the building, we now have ample parking for our staff and our extensive remodelling of the building prior to moving incorporates solar powered electricity and car charging points to align with our sustainability goals.

"We have a programme of growth for the next five years, with a need for these premises to be adequate to support the next stage."

The company worked with property agency John Truslove on the deal.

Joint managing director Ian Parker said: "Terry and John have created a hugely successful, ambitious and growing company that needed to acquire its own headquarters to cement its future.

"We have worked with Ignis group over the years, helping them find the right premises to support their continuing growth until they finally decided to buy a permanent home.

"We are delighted to have been able to play a part in establishing their superb new headquarters in Stoke Prior."
