Clifford Chance's profit soars to £944m, partners earn £2.1m each

The 36% increase in profit, up from £693m in the 2022/23 financial year, is the third consecutive year of growth for the London-based firm

Profit at prestigious British law firm Clifford Chance soared to £944m last year, marking the third consecutive year of profit growth for the legal powerhouse.

The London-headquartered firm's revenue climbed by 9 per cent to £2.4bn, after breaking the £2bn barrier for the first time in 2023, as reported by .

Consequently, equity partners are set to receive just over £2.1m each.

The profit per equity partner (PEP) has risen from the £2.04m they earned last year and the £2m received in 2023.

The firm reported "a strong performance" across all regions, with a particularly impressive 36 per cent increase in revenue in the Middle East.

Clifford Chance pushes into the US

Clifford Chance is expanding its presence in the US, following in the footsteps of other renowned 'magic circle' firms.

In the past financial year, the firm has aggressively recruited numerous partners to bolster its New York, Houston, and Washington, D. C. offices, raising the total number of US partners to 122.

This expansion has led to the US region recording its second consecutive year of growth, with an 18 per cent rise in revenue.
