City of Bristol college is ending a subcontracting agreement with one of its education providers.
The higher education institute announced on Monday (November 10) it would part ways with not-for-profit Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures (HWV) in July next year.
HWV has its own building in Hartcliffe, known as Gatehouse Centre. Under its partnership with City of Bristol College, it offers an A2A study programme for 16-18 year olds. Subjects available to study through HWV include English and maths GCSE.
In a joint statement, the organisations said they were parting "on excellent terms and with mutual respect" and that the decision reflected "evolving strategic priorities" of both parties.
"Throughout the duration of the partnership, City of Bristol College and Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures have worked together to deliver education and training that has positively impacted students and the wider community," the statement said.
"Both organisations take immense pride in these achievements and in the professionalism and commitment that has characterised their collaboration.
"Supporting local communities remains at the heart of both organisations. The Gatehouse remains an anchor institution in the local community, continuing to provide access to learning, skills development and a trusted place for community support."
City of Bristol College said it remained "steadfast in its commitment" to serving diverse communities and students across Bristol, the South West and beyond.
"The college continues to ensure that the level of education and opportunities that it provides are of the highest standard, are inclusive and accessible to everyone," the statement added.
"This transition will allow Hartcliffe and Withywood Ventures to be creative and responsive to the needs of the community while continuing to collaborate with City of Bristol College and other partners.
"The focus for both organisations remains on high quality education, community support, inclusivity and social cohesion."
HWV was established in 1985 to increase opportunities for people living in Bristol, and moved into the Gatehouse in 1995. The site is also home to the , which opened in February this year.
