Cardboard firm Red Rose Packaging is sold to Logson Group

Stockport company will keep its management team and brand after takeover by East Midlands group

Corrugated packaging specialist Red Rose Packaging has been taken over by the £200m Logson Group in a deal that will see it maintain its own brand identity and plan for growth.

Red Rose, of Stockport, was founded in 1985 and employs some 40 people. Its existing management team will continue to lead it as a standalone business within the Logson group.

Logson Group, based in Coalville in Leicestershire, owns brands including Board24, Boxes and Packaging, Cases24, Jardin Corrugated and The Cardboard Box Company. it employs more than 1,000 people at 19 locations across the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.

Ben Bradley, Danielle Tierney and Isabelle Luscombe, of HURST Corporate Finance, and Liz Gallagher and Sarah Haley of HURST’s tax team, advised the shareholders of Red Rose Packaging on the transaction.

Ruth Hargreaves and Rachel Brassey of Brabners provided legal advice to the shareholders.

Mr Bradley said: “It’s been a pleasure working with the shareholders over recent months. It was clear from the outset that Logson would be a great home for the business and we wish everyone all the best for the future.”
