A logistics firm has expanded its foothold in the West Midlands by acquiring a local rival.

Solihull-based OnLogistics has acquired Exact Logistics in Rugby in an undisclosed deal.

OnLogistics specialises in e-commerce and order fulfilment services and said the acquisition of Exact Logistics would give it long-term opportunities for business expansion and a broader range of delivery services.

In business for two decades, it works with clients in sectors such as automotive, aerospace, healthcare and fitness.

Exact Logistics was founded by husband and wife team Adam and Karen Shuter in 2009 with the aim of offering palletised freight delivery services to businesses in Warwickshire.

The company has since expanded to provide final-mile distribution for European international hauliers, primarily German, and has recently established an in-house customs clearance team.

Following the buyout deal, Mr and Mrs Shuter will stay in post as the business will continue to operate as a separate entity.
