Here we publish the second part of our 2023 Top 500 companies list - taking in numbers 350-201. Throughout this week, BusinessLive will be counting down to the top 20 biggest businesses by turnover in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derbyshire which will be revealed online and at a breakfast event hosted by our parent company Reach plc this Friday.
The list includes companies that have their registered offices based in one of the three counties covered by East Midlands Chamber - including some firms registered at accountants in the region. It does not include big local employers which have their registered offices outside the region.
This year, the list is sponsored by NatWest Group and Leicester-based property developer Bradgate Estates.
As in the previous three years, it has been put together by researchers from the business schools at De Montfort, Derby and Nottingham Trent universities, supported by the chamber, using historical data from Companies House accounts filed for the period between July 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.
De Montfort University Professor David Rae, who oversaw the Top 500 list, said: "The first EM Top 500 was launched in May 2020, with both the 2020 and 2021 reports published while the effects of the Covid 19 pandemic and lockdown impacted on our lives and businesses while the 2022 report was also overshadowed by uncertainty from political events and the war in Ukraine.
"The fourth East Midlands Top 500 Companies 2023 again appears in a changing economic context, in which the º£½ÇÊÓƵ economy has avoided recession and the region's businesses continue to show resilience in responding to diverse challenges as well as emerging opportunities."
