A fish and chip industry legend, the boss of a successful travel business and an export champion are among the business leaders from across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ which have been recognised in the New Year's Honours List 2021.
Richard Ord, Irene Lucas-Hays and Paul Morris have all received honours in this year's list which recognises the incredible efforts of business leaders, public sector and community workers throughout 2020 and beyond.
The trio are among the 1,239 people to be honoured in recognition of their 'extraordinary' contributions to the nation, including 111 recipients who have been recognised for services to business and the economy.
The 2021 list highlights how Britain's business sector has stepped up to deliver for the country during the coronavirus pandemic - from small business owners diverting their resources or changing business models to support the response effort, to supermarket workers making sure all their vulnerable customers were stocked up with essential items.
Here we take a look at some of the business leaders who made the list:
Thom Allison CBE, Tulloch Homes
Peel Ports chairman Thom Allison has been awarded a CBE for services to business and charity.
Mr Allison, who is the former chief executive of Clydeport, is also the chairman of housebulders Tulloch Homes and is senior independent director of Celtic Football Club Plc.
His charity work includes him being an ambassador for the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow.
Stephen Bagshaw CBE, Fugifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies
Stephen Bagshaw is chairman of bio pharmaceuticals firm Fujifilm Diosynth Biotechnologies.
He has more than 30 years' experience with the company and its predecessors and was named the North East Business Executive of the Year in 2017.
He was awarded a CBE for services to the º£½ÇÊÓƵ manufacturing and biotechnology sector.
Kevin Byrne MBE, Seymour Civil Engineering
Kevin Byrne worked as managing director at Hartlepool-based Seymour Civil Engineering until he retired earlier this year. He worked at the company for 32 years.
He received his MBE for services to business and to skills.
Katherine Dawson OBE, The All-in-One Company
Katherine Dawson is founder and director of The All-in-One Company, in Ashington, which makes luxury, eco-friendly onesies.
She has been awarded a CBE for services to business and frontline workers during the Covid-19 response through the Scrub Hub Ashington, which makes scrubs for NHS workers.
Lee Hallan OBE, Linbrooke Services
Lee Hallam is chief executive officer and founder of Linbrooke Services, a multidisciplinary engineering firm based in Yorkshire.
He founded the company in the early 2000s and it has now grown into a £60m firm employing 347 people.
He received his OBE for services to business and to skills.

Stuart Lamb OBE, William Lamb Group
Stuart Lamb is chairman of footwear supplier William Lamb Group.
The company was founded in 1887 by Mr Lamb's grandfather and made clogs for coal miners. The company is still based in the same building but has grown to make more than ten million pairs of shoes a year.
In 2018 Mr Lamb was given a lifetime achievement award at the Drapers Footwear Awards.
His OBE is for services to business, to skills and to the community in Yorkshire.
Robert Lawson OBE, Callaghan Marketing
Robert Lawson is chair of governors of the Education Partnership North East. Prior to this he was chair of the board of governors for Sunderland College.
He is an active member of the business community in the North East working as a PR and marketing specialist and associate director at Callaghan Marketing.
He received his OBE for services to education in Sunderland.
Dame Irene Lucas-Hays, Hays Travel
Irene Lucas-Hays has received a Dames Commander of the Order of the British Empire (DBE) for services to training, to education and to young people.
Mrs Lucas-Hays worked as chief executive of two large local authorities and ended her government career in Whitehall. She was awarded a CBE for her work in 2008.
She runs a consultancy firm supporting North East businesses and is chair of Hays Travel, which she ran with her husband John until his death this year.
John Medland OBE, BT
John Medland is 999 policy manager for BT.
He is responsible for the company's 999 call handling product and has worked in the field for 32 years.
He has received an OBE for services to public safety.
Paul Morris MBE, Addmaster
Paul Morris, founder of Addmaster in Stafford, has received an MBE for his firm's services to exporting and championing the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's manufacturing capabilities globally.
The company's performance-enhancing additives are being used to give products and touch points greater hygienic protection against the spread of bacteria and viruses.
Addmaster's client base includes household names such as Asda, Dulux and hundreds OF healthcare facilities across 55 countries.
As a result of the covid-19 pandemic, the firm has seen sales climb by 60 per cent as customers become more conscious about improved hygiene.
Mr Morris set up the company 21 years ago after borrowing £5,000 off his grandmother.
Richard Ord MBE, Colmans Fish & Chips and Colmans Seafood Temple
Richard Ord is the owner of Colmans Fish & Chips and Colmans Seafood Temple.
He started cutting fish at Colmans Ocean Road in 1969 and has now worked for more than 50 years in the hospitality industry. In 2017 he bought a derelict bandstand in South Shields and turned into an award-winning seafood restaurant.
He has received his MBE for services to hospitality and regeneration in South Tyneside.
Huw Owen MBE, Owens Group
The founder and managing director of a Llanelli transport and logistics firm has been awarded an MBE.
Huw Owen has been given the Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to employment and to the community in Llanelli and South Wales.
This past year the family business, which was started by Mr Owen in 1970, was tasked with distributing multiple truckloads of essential pieces of PPE to NHS Wales and also to NHS departments in England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Owens Group trucks met flights, specially-chartered by the Welsh Government, carrying critical PPE from Asia to Cardiff.
Sharron Robbie MBE, Devon and Cornwall Training Providers Network
The strategic business development and marketing professional became managing director of Devon and Cornwall Training Providers Network in 2016 after a nine-month stint working for BusinessLive publisher Reach Plc as a media sales director based in Truro.
Sharron, from Plymouth, had previously also worked at City College Plymouth and had been a director of Devon and Plymouth Chamber of Commerce, a trustee of Young Devon and chair of the Plymouth and District Netball League.
With the Devon and Cornwall Training Providers Network, Sharron has a key strategic and public relations role, representing more than 50 network members across Devon and Cornwall, raising the profile of work-based learning with strategic bodies and other key stakeholders.
She received an MBE for services to apprenticeships and skills.
Hugh Rolo OBE, Key Fund
Hugh Rolo is chair and founding member of Key Fund.
The firm invests "patient capital" in community enterprises and chairs its investment panel.
He received his OBE for services to social investment and enterprise in the Midlands and North of England.
Isobel Sheldon OBE, Britishvolt
Isobel Sheldon is the director of business development at the º£½ÇÊÓƵ Battery Industrialisation Centre.
Ms Sheldon is also chief strategy officer at Britishvolt, a major new development in the North East which aims to bring battery manufacturing back to Britain. She has received an OBE for services to motor vehicle battery technology.
Zoe Taylor MBE, Sparkol
Zoe Alison Taylor, chief executive officer at Bristol-based Sparkol, received an MBE for services to exports.
Zoe bought out the South West tech company in an MBO in 2018 and has since seen its products go far and wide.
Specialising in software that helps companies tell stories in interesting user-friendly ways, Sparkol's products are used by more than two million people across 160 countries including huge organisations such as the BBC.
Darren Teale MBE, Junction 15 Productions
Darren Teale is the founder of Staffordshire film company Junction 15 Productions and an award-winning film-maker who produces content internationally in Europe, South-East Asia, Mexico and the Middle East.
He directs content for TV adverts, brand and commercial video, documentaries and humanitarian films that promote social action.
Darren is most noted for bringing the BAFTA-shortlisted Sky One doc 'Ben: Diary of a Heroin Addict' to TV screens. He believes that film-making is a springboard towards giving under represented communities a voice.
To this end, over the past 15 years, he has used his company to spearhead a variety of charities and foundations both in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and internationally.
He received an MBE for services to media and vulnerable communities in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and abroad.
Susan Tipton MBE, Protocol Consultancy Services
Susan Tipton has been awarded an MBE for services to apprenticeships and charity in the West Midlands.
She set up Birmingham-based Protocol Consultancy Services in 1996 as a small apprenticeship training provider since when she has supported more than 5,000 learners.
Ms Tipton has engaged with over 2,500 employers and helped 2,000 young people into apprenticeships or employment, including employing 40 apprentices in her own business, some of whom are now directors or senior managers.
She has also supported numerous charities including the Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation and Alzheimer's Friends.
