Business improvement district secures backing for fourth term

Team will continue to work on improving matters in Solihull for local companies

The team from Solihull BID celebrate securing a 'Yes' vote for another five-year term

A business improvement district has secured the backing of local companies for another five-year term.

Solihull BID will continue until at least 2030 after receiving resounding support from its business community.

More than 450 companies were balloted about the continuation of the organisation that was originally set up in 2010.

It received 93 per cent backing of the total number of votes.

This result means the BID’s fourth term will begin on August 1, allowing its work in the town centre to continue during a transformative time for Solihull.

Chief executive Melanie Palmer said: "We are thrilled to be given the opportunity to serve the businesses and people of Solihull for a fourth term.

"The BID team and I are excited to start work on delivering five more years of projects that retain the status of Solihull at the forefront of success.
