A Bristol-based community interest company that supports gender diversity in the workplace has appointed a new director to its board.
Entrepreneur and communications expert Sarah Rice has joined the Bristol Women in Business Charter (BWBC) as it looks to expand its work across the region.
Ms Rice, the owner of Rice PR, has nearly 30 years' experience in strategic communications, with the last eight spent specialising in HR and recruitment associated PR and marketing.

She joins charter founding director Sandra Gordon and HR specialist Kristal Macnamara, who joined as a director in 2022, leading a growing operational and ambassador team.
Ms Gordon said: “Welcoming Sarah to the board reflects the charter’s growth and the increasing recognition that inclusion isn’t a ‘nice to have’ – it’s a business-critical issue.
“Marketing and communications are central to amplifying our impact, connecting with more organisations, and showing what’s possible when businesses take real action."
Ms Rice's appointment comes as the charter launches a new five-year strategy, building on its mission to create tangible change for inclusion and equity at work.
“With our five-year strategy now in motion, we’re in a stronger position than ever to help drive systemic change across the city," added Ms Gordon.

Ms Rice, who has lived and worked in Bristol for more than 25 years, says she is "a passionate advocate" for the city’s diverse communities and a supporter of the charter’s approach around intersectionality. She started at the charter as an ambassador in 2023.
“The charter is more than a networking initiative, this is about delivering lasting, measurable change for Bristol’s workforce and its business leaders," she said.
“I’m excited to work alongside such an inspirational team and help shape the next chapter in the charter’s journey."
The BWBC now supports signatory organisations employing over 45,000 people across the region.
