A Bristol-based catering equipment supplier has marked 50 years of trading.

Jongor Hire stocks the largest range of catering equipment for rental in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and fulfils more than 2,000 orders each year. The firm has supplied major events such as the Cheltenham Gold Cup and The BRIT Awards, as well as for the NHS and National Grid.

Formed in 1973, the company - which also has a furniture supply service - has its national office on the Kingsland Trading Estate in St Philips and a base in Hayes, West London.

The following year Jongor won the furniture contract for the Wimbledon tennis championships, which it retains to this day.

After many years of trading with tool supplier Brandon Hire, Jongor Hire moved into private ownership 20 years ago, with the business consolidating all its depots into one in Brislington. It moved to its current location in the city in 2012, during which time it also supplied the London 2012 Olympics.

The firm was purchased by Key West Holdings in 2015. During the Covid-19 pandemic the business pivoted and consolidated its operations by supplying Nightingale Hospitals, GP surgeries, and vaccination and quarantine sites across the country.

Last year Jongor was acquired by Bristol catering equipment giant Nisbets, one of the largest suppliers to commercial kitchens across Europe, as part of a series of deals completed by the Avonmouth-headquartered firm in 2022.
