Brabners acquires fast-growing Manchester firm HRC Law

The team specialising in recruitment will join the Brabners Manchester office

A law firm whose HQ is in Liverpool has expanded its offering by acquiring a "fast-growing" business in neighbouring city Manchester.

Brabners has swooped for HRC Law in a move that will see the team of 15 specialising in the recruitment sector join the Brabners Manchester office.

HRC Law founder Simon Whitehead returns to Brabners as a senior equity partner having built the HRC practice over the last six years.

According to Brabners, which has more than 380 staff, Mr Whitehead spent eight years at at the firm between 2003 and 2011, latterly as a partner.

HRC Law acts for a large number of employers and specialises in the recruitment sector, acting for many trade organisations such as TEAM, Powerhive and the FCSA as well as recruitment businesses nationwide.

The acquisition is the latest development in what the firm calls a period of "significant growth" for Brabners as part of the strategic change programme led by CEO Robert White and managing partner Nik White.

The team from HRC Law joins an employment practice with an international client base whose collective turnover exceeds £15bn.
