The boss of one of the region’s most successful businesses has spoken about what it means to win a LeicestershireLive Business Award.
Encouraging business leaders to enter this year’s awards, Dr Nik Kotecha OBE DL said not only was it a privilege to be picked as a winner last year, it was also a great reflection of the hard work his dedicated staff have put into making Morningside Pharmaceuticals a success.
Loughborough-based Morningside exports to more than 120 countries and is now one of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s leading suppliers of medicines to international aid organisations. It is also a big supplier to the NHS.
Dr Kotecha is also the founder and trustee of the Randal Charitable Foundation, which is dedicated to saving lives, helping the socially disadvantaged and improving the quality of life for those in need in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and around the world.
He is a well known figure on the regional business scene, and the business is sponsoring the Entrepreneur of the Year category in this year’s awards. .
Dr Kotecha said: “We were delighted to win the Science & Technology Award at the 2021 LeicestershireLive Business Awards because innovation, investing in research & development and focusing on continuous improvement are at the heart of Morningside’s 30 year growth story.
“In that time, we are proud to have developed into a leading Leicestershire manufacturer and supplier of generic and branded medicines to the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and globally, which has led to Morningside becoming one of the county’s Top 100 businesses today.
“The most important part of winning a LeicestershireLive Business Award, is the recognition it gives to a company’s dedicated, hard working and talented workforce, without whom, a business’ success would not be possible.
