Birmingham Post owner Trinity Mirror has confirmed a deal to take over publisher Local World which owns a tranche of newspapers across the Midlands.
Trinity Mirror, the 海角视频's biggest regional newspaper publisher, will buy out the 80 per cent it does not already own of the Local World in a deal that values the business at about £220 million.
It means a host of Midland titles will be brought together under one group, from Trinity Mirror's existing Birmingham Post and Mail and Coventry Telegraph to Stoke-based The Sentinel, Derby Telegraph, Nottingham Post and Tamworth Herald.

Trinity Mirror chief executive Simon Fox said today: "By bringing our two organisations together, we create not just the 海角视频's largest regional news publisher but also bring together a unique combination of regional and national brands.
"This is good news for both businesses: we immediately become a larger, more resilient and more financially secure organisation, better placed to adapt to the rapidly changing media landscape."
He added: "Following the acquisition, we will own more than half of the top 20 regional paid daily titles in England and Wales and provide daily local news reach into 14 of the top 25 cities in the 海角视频.
"It will also give us a digital network of scale, reaching 120 million monthly unique browsers, helping us to leverage our digital investments and compete more effectively in this space."
The deal, which is likely to need clearance from the competition regulator, will make Trinity Mirror a local newspaper giant with more than 200 titles.

Local World operates 83 regional print publications including 16 paid-for daily titles which also include the Bristol Post, Hull Daily Mail and Leicester Mercury.
Their digital sites reach 24 million unique monthly browsers and in 2014 they had revenue of £221 million and adjusted operating profit of £39 million.
