A Birmingham college and training provider which specialises in high-level tech and advanced manufacturing is supporting upcoming industry talent at our Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards 2020.

Birmingham Metropolitan College is sponsoring the Engineering and Manufacturing category, one of six individual awards to be presented on the night, which will recognise achievement from a broad range of fields.

Manufacturing and engineering are considered the lifeblood of the West Midlands economy, with so many major employers having bases here alongside vital SMEs producing everything from automotive and aerospace components to jewellery and PPE.

The event will recognise achievement across 12 separate categories including crowning our overall Apprentice of the Year.

The ceremony has been put back to November and will be held online as a result of the coronavirus lockdown but the deadline to enter has been extended until September 18.

Birmingham Metropolitan College, known across the city as 'BMet', offers an invaluable service to and maintains close links with the West Midlands business community from its three campuses - Matthew Boulton in the city centre, James Watt in Great Barr and Sutton Coldfield College.

It provides a higher education pathway to thousands of people in the region every year and works with local, regional and national businesses to develop apprenticeship programmes up to degree level.

It specialises in engineering, advanced manufacturing and high-level technology and its centres of excellence in construction and engineering host their own workshops.
