The Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards 2020 will celebrate achievement among individuals, their employers and education and training providers.

Our event this year is run in partnership with a campaign which is working to create hundreds of new apprenticeships across the region.

The awards will be held online In November as a result of the coronavirus crisis but will still be a stellar celebration of the apprenticeship movement in Greater Birmingham.

There will be 12 separate categories including crowning our overall Apprentice of the Year and here we focus on one of the six individual awards to be presented on the night.

Outstanding Apprentice of the Year (Health, Education and Care - Private or Public Sector), sponsored by Skillsfirst

We are looking for applicants who go above and beyond for the people they work with, whether they are learners, service users or patients in care. Nominees will be working in fields such as mobile care or a care home setting, mainstream and higher education, for private and NHS hospitals and other healthcare sectors.

Last year's winner in this category was Elle-Marie Reid from Bumble Bees Nursery.

After initially struggling with her confidence and ICT skills, she improved immensely and went on to complete her Level 2 and was working towards her Level 3 qualification. Assessors praised her ability to command a room confidently, interact with children and help them to grow and develop to the best of their abilities.
