Bet365 announces multi-millon pound financial support package for thousands of staff amid coronavirus outbreak

The online betting company has also promised there will be no job losses in the next five months

Online bookmaker bet365 has announced a multi-millon pound financial package for thousands of employees amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The Stoke-on-Trent business has pledged to ensure that all of its 4,389 staff will receive guaranteed earnings until at least the end of August in a move which the firm says will 'mitigate the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.'

A stated that the company - which is owned by The Coates family - has also promised that no employees will be made redundant for the next five months.


The same measures have also been brought in at Stoke City Football Club.


A spokesperson for bet365 said: "In times of uncertainty is was essential that we reassured our people of the commitment we have to them and the wider community.


"They have been instrumental in our success and will continue to be so throughout these troubling times and beyond, when normality will inevitably be restored."


The news comes just days after bet365 announced it had signed a five-year deal on a city centre building in Manchester as part of its plans to expand further into the North West.
