Black Country training firm BCTG Group has acquired a West Midlands rival to create a £20 million turnover company.
The Oldbury-based business has bought out PTP Training for an undisclosed sum to create a 200-strong outfit with training contracts across a broad range of sectors.
PTP Training, which trades as Performance Through People, becomes part of the BCTG Group which includes BCTG, Eurosource Solutions, Further Training and The Apprenticeship Works.
BCTG, which has ten offices across the West Midlands, supports almost 10,000 young people and adults each year, offering 166 different types of apprenticeship, 84 different adult upskilling and reskilling courses and 27 pre-apprenticeship programmes for 16-18-year-olds.
These include healthcare, engineering, manufacturing, logistics and IT.

The Birmingham Apprenticeship Awards are back for a second year, in partnership with the Ladder for Greater Birmingham. The event will be held online only on Friday November 27, 2020 and will celebrate apprentices, employers and training and education providers.

BCTG's chief executive Chris Luty said: "Performance Through People has a tremendous reputation for high-quality, flexible training and this, alongside the existing BCTG offer, means employers in the region can now source all their training and recruitment needs from a single one-stop shop.

Performance Through People's managing director Rob Colbourne and his management team will continue to lead the company as part of the wider group.

Looking ahead, Mr Luty said that BCTG was hopeful of opening its new Construction Skills Centre in West Bromwich later in the summer.
It was completed shortly before the pandemic took hold and was due to launch just a few days before lockdown commenced, forcing the firm to postpone all of its planned courses.

He added: "Everything is in place, all the equipment and facilities are there, just waiting for the first learners.
"We hope to be able to open fully in July in time for this year's school leavers but, in the meantime, we have transferred all our construction theory courses online so students can still start and learn the knowledge before they come along to the centre.
"We firmly believe that investment is critical at the moment and, as we emerge from the crisis, the only sustainable way to get the economy moving is by investing in skills."
