A battery business has launched a second office in the West Midlands. AceOn has added the new base in Solihull where it has created four jobs to sit alongside its head office in Telford.

The company has more than 30 years of experience in the design and manufacture of custom-built battery packs, supporting the development of new technologies and products, and the distribution of industrial and consumer batteries.

Its energy division also provides a training, service and distribution centre.

The expansion onto Blythe Valley Park is aimed at increasing the company's residential, commercial and industrial energy storage operations and has also taken the founder Mark Thompson back to his home town.

He set up his original battery business in a garden shed at his father's home in Solihull in 1990.

Mr Thompson said the move was the first part of an expansion strategy which could see the company setting up a new warehouse and manufacturing facility in the region later in the year.

"This is a really exciting development for AceOn and marks a new phase of our growth ambitions," he said.
